How many days do I need in Egypt?
Ten to fourteen days on the ground covers Cairo, a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan and Abu Simbel at a comfortable pace. Add three or four nights for the Red Sea, or two or three for the desert. Our guide to planning an Egypt itinerary goes into more detail.
Why does the builder put the places in that order?
It follows the usual flow of an Egypt trip: Cairo first, then any desert or Mediterranean side trips, south along the Nile to Luxor and Aswan, Abu Simbel from Aswan, then the Red Sea or Sinai to relax before flying home via Cairo. We fine-tune the order around flights and your dates.
Do I need a night in Cairo at the end?
Usually, yes. Most flights home to Australia and New Zealand leave Cairo late at night or early in the morning, so the builder adds a final night in Cairo after the south or the coast. We remove it if your flights don’t need it.
What happens when I send my itinerary?
An Egypt specialist reviews it, suggests hotels, cruise ships and timings, and sends you a day-by-day private itinerary with a quote in Australian dollars, usually within one business day. There’s no cost or obligation.
