Our story

A dahabiya under sail on the Nile at dusk

Nile cruises & dahabiyas

The Nile, the way it should be seen

A Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan is the heart of any Egypt trip – temples at Edfu and Kom Ombo by day, the river sliding past at sunset.

We know the fleet ship by ship: the genuinely five-star cruisers, the boutique ships with a handful of cabins, and the traditional sailing dahabiyas that moor at quiet islands the big boats can’t reach. We’ll match the boat, cabin and sailing date to you – and add a private Egyptologist on board.

The golden funerary mask of Tutankhamun

New for Egypt travel

The Grand Egyptian Museum is open

The world’s largest museum devoted to a single civilisation opened fully in November 2025, beside the Pyramids of Giza.

For the first time, Tutankhamun’s entire collection is displayed together, alongside Khufu’s 4,500-year-old solar boat and the colossal statue of Ramesses II in the atrium. We build in the time it deserves – with an Egyptologist who knows the galleries – and pair it with the Pyramids for an unforgettable day.

Egypt travel questions, answered

What is the best way to book a trip to Egypt from Australia?

The easiest and safest way is through an Egypt specialist who can bundle your international flights, private guides, internal flights, Nile cruise and hotels into one itinerary with one point of contact. Noble Travel designs every trip privately around your dates and interests, quotes in Australian dollars and provides 24/7 support while you are in Egypt.

How many days do you need in Egypt?

Ten to twelve days is the sweet spot for a first visit: three nights in Cairo for the Pyramids, Saqqara and the Grand Egyptian Museum, a three- or four-night Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, and a day trip to Abu Simbel. With 14 days or more you can add the Red Sea, Alexandria or the Western Desert. See our sample Egypt itineraries.

When is the best time to visit Egypt?

October to April is the best time to visit Egypt, with warm, dry days of roughly 20–30°C in Luxor and Aswan. December and January are the busiest months. Spring (March–April) and autumn (October–November) offer the best balance of weather and crowds. Read the month-by-month guide.

Do Australians need a visa for Egypt?

Yes. Australian passport holders need a visa, which can be obtained online as an e-Visa before travel or as a visa on arrival at major Egyptian airports. Your passport should be valid for at least six months. Full details are in our Egypt visa guide for Australians.

Is Egypt safe for Australian travellers?

The main tourist areas – Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel and the Red Sea resorts – welcome millions of visitors each year and are well policed. Some border regions carry stronger warnings, so always check the current advice on Smartraveller. Travelling with a private guide and driver removes most of the hassle and risk. Read is Egypt safe?

Are your Egypt tours private or group tours?

All Noble Travel journeys are private. You travel with your own Egyptologist guide and driver, on your own dates, at your own pace. Our published itineraries are starting points – we adjust every one to suit you.

Can you book flights from Australia to Egypt?

Yes. We can arrange return flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and other Australian and New Zealand cities, typically via Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi or Singapore, along with stopovers and internal Egyptian flights. See flights from Australia to Egypt.
