Quick answer
From Brisbane, Egypt is a one-stop flight via a Gulf hub such as Dubai or Doha, about 22–26 hours in total. Noble Travel plans private, tailor-made Egypt tours for Brisbane and Gold Coast travellers, with flights, Egyptologist guides, a Nile cruise and 24/7 support, quoted in Australian dollars.
How do you fly from Brisbane to Egypt?
Fly one-stop from Brisbane via the Gulf into Cairo International Airport (CAI); allow about 22–26 hours in total. At the time of writing, Emirates (via Dubai) and Qatar Airways (via Doha) fly from Brisbane with onward connections to Cairo, and other Gulf and Asian carriers offer alternatives with a stop in their hub. Routes change, so we check current options when quoting.
Gold Coast and regional Queensland travellers usually connect through Brisbane or Sydney (see Egypt tours from the Gold Coast). See our flights from Australia to Egypt guide for stopovers and jet lag tips.
What's the time difference between Brisbane and Egypt?
Egypt is 8 hours behind Brisbane during Egypt's winter and 7 hours behind during Egypt's summer daylight saving (roughly late April to late October). Queensland doesn't use daylight saving, so the gap only changes on the Egyptian side. Aim to arrive in Cairo in the morning or early afternoon, stay up until about 9pm, and keep the first day light.
Escaping the Queensland summer for Egypt
Egypt's best season, October to April, is warm and dry, with days of roughly 20–30°C in Luxor and Aswan, a welcome change from a humid Brisbane summer. December and January are the busiest and most expensive months. Late October, November, February and March are the sweet spots. Read the month-by-month guide.
