Planning your route through Egypt
Most first-time visitors combine Cairo & Giza (Pyramids, Saqqara and the Grand Egyptian Museum) with the Nile Valley – Luxor and Aswan, usually linked by a Nile cruise – and a day trip to Abu Simbel. That core route takes 9–12 days.
With more time, add a few days of sun and snorkelling on the Red Sea, Greco-Roman Alexandria, or a desert expedition to Siwa and the White Desert. Our Egypt itinerary guide sets out the best combinations for 7, 10, 14 and 21 days.
