Quick answer
Noble Travel designs private, tailor-made Egypt tours for New Zealanders. From Auckland, a one-stop flight via Dubai or Doha reaches Cairo in roughly 24–28 hours; Christchurch and Wellington travellers connect via Auckland or Australia. Kiwis need a visa for Egypt, available online or on arrival.
Can New Zealanders book an Egypt tour with Noble Travel?
Yes. We plan Egypt trips for travellers across New Zealand, with the same private guides, hand-picked hotels, Nile cruises and 24/7 in-country support as our Australian clients. Planning happens by phone, video call, email and WhatsApp, and we're only 2–3 hours behind New Zealand, so it's easy to find a time to talk.
We quote in Australian dollars and can give you an indicative New Zealand dollar figure on request. Every journey is private: your own Egyptologist guide, your own driver and your own dates.
How do you fly from New Zealand to Egypt?
From Auckland, the most direct option is a one-stop flight via the Gulf: at the time of writing, Emirates flies non-stop Auckland–Dubai and Qatar Airways flies non-stop Auckland–Doha, each with onward connections to Cairo. The long first leg is about 16–18 hours, followed by a 3.5–4 hour flight to Cairo, so allow roughly 24–28 hours in total.
- Christchurch: connect via Auckland or an Australian city such as Sydney.
- Wellington and Queenstown: connect via Auckland or Australia.
- Via Asia: routings through Singapore or another Asian hub are also possible and can suit award bookings.
Routes change, so we confirm the current options when we quote. Many Kiwis break the journey with a one or two-night stopover in Dubai or Doha. More detail is in our flights guide.
Do New Zealanders need a visa for Egypt?
Yes. New Zealand passport holders need a visa for Egypt, which at the time of writing can be obtained online as an e-Visa before travel or as a visa on arrival at major Egyptian airports. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date, with blank pages for stamps.
Fees and rules change, so check the official Egypt e-Visa portal (visa2egypt.gov.eg) and the New Zealand government's travel advice at SafeTravel before you go. The process is the same as for Australians, which we explain step by step in our Egypt visa guide.
When should Kiwis travel to Egypt?
October to April is the best time to visit Egypt, with warm, dry days in Luxor and Aswan and mild evenings in Cairo. That covers the New Zealand summer holidays, when fares are highest, so book flights 6–9 months ahead for December and January. Late October, November, February and March offer the best balance of weather, crowds and price. See the month-by-month guide.
Which Egypt tour is best from New Zealand?
Because the journey is long, we suggest at least 12 days on the ground for a first trip from New Zealand. Our Classic Egypt & Nile Cruise is the most popular choice, and the Egypt & Red Sea adds beach time to recover before the flight home. With three weeks, the Ultimate Egypt takes in Alexandria, Siwa and the White Desert as well.
